But that brings an interesting point. So I was requested to come up with a proposal to re-define Mythic Games branding and marketing strategy. (I've been a little too vocal about how I am not happy with the direction it has been going).First thing I want to stop is the fact that they are only using emails for sales. I want to pitch it to stop for the next few months and only email relevant content to people. Like - KS updates (and adding frequency to them), steps mythic games has taken during the month to show progress, BG insight, and a whippy joking hazard type strip that make fun of ourselves
Use the website more then just a shop and do actual blogs. One serious and one that is like "Stories from the Darkside (Customer Service)" where we do a DD in CS but relay stories how instances that has happened. Next, take all the fantastic paint jobs from the community and share them out on social media. Give the artist/backer/customer credit and applaud them for their work.On the topic of the website, for @*$& sake stop making all these landing pages for updates and FAQs. This all needs to be one place and we have a website. Move it all there.
Reactivate our youtube and do short form video
People might hate this one... but STOP all the damn sales. It drops the value of the product. Why even set an MSRP if one is never going to use it.
I found out that the current guy doing our marketing comes from a supermarket background. TOTALLY different market. He is treating our eshop like a food store. This is not the market for these tactics. It works in that industry because what they are discounting is commonly bought items on a daily that rotates weekly due to the plethora of products.[...] I will not discredit them because what they are doing works in those types of markets. It is what they know. Did it show signs of working at first? Yes. But the diminishing returns and customer backlash as they continued the same strategies over and over should have lead to know... something needs to change.
A Marco le quedan dos días como siga soltando verdades en público.
Sorry for my absence, last week I was busy with the bosses and web devs to implement my branding/communication changes I pitched. They agreed to most of the things and it is a lot of prep to go live with them by Sept 1stI will be back on discord tomorrow officially[...]Starting Sept 1st all sales and marketing emails will stop for the time being. We will be using the emails for game updates, overarching info on Mythic Games, blogs, and backer/customer recognition. This will reduce the amount of emails you receive from us and hopefully begin the work on damage control.Integrating more info onto the website that is game related instead of those landing pages that take people to a completely different site. This way when someone goes on the website they will be able to find the FAQ, game breakdown, game updates, etc.Weekly blog that will vary between an article written by Leo about his experiences in the industry, customer/backer recognition, satirical art (making fun of ourselves) and game art.Taking back our social media pages by posting regularly.Short form videos of our games and team.[...]At the start of this, I will be in the thick of it so my absence will increase on here. But once it is fine tuned and going, I will be able to hand it off to people to maintain and keep it going.I also fought for the case of limited sales period. So games will go back to their MSRP prices and when we do sales will NEVER go to what it did on that July flash sale.
Chupito! Se echaban de menos los correos.
