Good news my friend, from day 1 I have designed around game components this time. I wanted the game to fit in a gaming library and be easy to ship.

I have created many physical prototype boxes and figured out that the best size for the core box is 32x32x12 cm which is about the average size of a modern boardgame box. Of course this could change a little by the time I deal with a manufacturer (miniature size and cardboard thickness can impact the height of a box a lot), so pretty please do not quote me down the line  ;D

And on a personal note, I am no longer a fan of games which requires half my bookcase to be "complete" and do not sit in any of its shelves.

Thanks for the clarifications Mauro.

As I say, apart from the issue of the box, for me it is very important that everything fits in as few boxes as possible, for example not having several boxes for the Strech Goals. Consider whether inserts are designed to fit sleeved cards.

As I did for Darklight, gender balance is quite important for the development of Animarium but it is not as easy to explain here why I am being ambiguous about it right now without spoiling the story. More regarding these Strugglers will be revealed as I release the Lore pages which I have prepared weekly releases for.

If you have not already, I would suggest read what's out so far about this universe: (the same link will work in the future as well  because I will overwrite the previous document with the new).

I have done my best not to bind my creations to common folklore, but rather using it as inspiration for something new/different. I want to give people a sense of discovery and wonder as they did the first time they came across Fantasy all those years ago.

Finally I can tell you that for the Core box we will have the following: Iron Wolf, Selvarin, Death Speaker and Mystraal I will leave the role of figuring out which is which on  the main artwork to you for now ;)

Thanks for answering. Of course, no need to spoil anything. I was just curious before, and now I feel intrigued. ::) I'll definitely read the documents.

Related to lore, I only have a couple of questions more for now. I was wondering if you would be so kind to comment on how narrative heavy will the game be, please? Honestly, I'm not fond of heavy narrative games, since I feel like I spend more time reading paragraphs than playing and somehow that abstracts me from the experience. I'm more fan of emergent storytelling games.

Also, how replayable will the game be, and how narration will affect replayability?

In total honesty, my strengths as a designer are in art and world building, at times I felt like I could have written a whole book and illustrated it just about the world of Animarium, but I had to contain myself :)

You can appreciate that because of this passion of mine, I want the story to be a key element to this game but not to the point you will have to read 20+ minutes before each session. If you are asking for the game to just give you quest after quest, with little to no connection except for the "Kill the evil guy" then this might not be for you :)

I think some of the strength of this game are in the surprising generation of adventures, so in that regard you should be covered. Character customization is pretty expansive as well, I have tried writing it here about 3 times now, but I either end up making it feel bloated or not explaining it well enough, so let me say that I believe this system offers more combination per character than Darklight did.

Story wise, well... some events will only happens when you take certain choices during previous missions/events, but you will not be spoiled in finding a solution because the decisions you must make are written as codes; so the game does not ask you "Did you kill this guy before?" (giving you the name and the action you must do to unlock this part) It will ask you if you have triggered "Event#234?" for example, and my hope is that there will be things so secret that very few people will experience them, prompting people to replay and find out, and that is all I can say on this without leaving spoilers.

Apunta a buen juego.

¡Me encantaría saber qué opináis!

¡Continuad la lucha! (Keep on Struggling!
