El circadians no es una expansión, es un nuevo juego completamente distinto, aunque en el mismo mundo y también creado por SJ Macdonald. De hecho en el KS habrá una segunda edición del primer juego, porque van a cambiar muchas cosas para "alinearlo" artísticamente con el nuevo. Posteriormente -creo haber entendido que no durante el kickstarter- ofrecerán un upgrade kit para los que tengan la primera edición. El nuevo creo que es de conflicto y control de áreas. Parece que lo del comercio pacífico con los nativos del planeta no debe haber funcionado a largo plazo...

EmperorS4 es una editorial reconocidísima. Tienen varios juegos que a mí me flipan, desde el propio Hanamikoji hasta su serie Walking in.... TBD Games es una empresa formada para sacar juegos de partners como EmperorS4 al mundo a través de campañas de micromecenazgo, sin más. Teniendo a estos partners detrás yo diría que total confianza.
