REVIEW

THE 3D PRINTER

We are in front of the first consumer 3D printer, so what do we expect from it? Obviously it has to be affordable, intuitive and at the same time complex for the strictest costumers, in this review we will see if this printer fulfill all those aspects.

MATERIAL USED

The Micro uses PLA (Polylactic acid) which is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources, it is not toxic and we find this material in our daily life.

These are Tea bags made of PLA.

Another option is to use ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). It is a common thermoplastic, it is amorphous and therefore has no true melting point, it is recyclable, but at the same time it is not accepted by all recycling facilities.

Lego bricks are made of ABS.

And you can also use Micro Filament spools (1.75mm) these ones fit inside The Micro, so it is portable and seamless. They only weigh around 1/2lb (225g)

SOFTWARE

The idea of making a futuristic software is a very good point. The M3D software is very easy to use and it seems really funny to work with.

•   M3D software for an effortless, plug-and-play experience
•   Supports and uses open source software (for advanced users)
•   File Types Supported: .stl, .obj
•   Compatible with Mac and PC. Linux will also likely be supported.

THE MICRO

It has a sensor and feedback system called Micro Motion Technology built into the print head which function is to auto-level and auto-calibrate the printer.

Carbon fiber rods have been used in order to have a sturdy and lightweight build

It incorporates an Aerospace Grade Ceramic Heater System.

Its multi-calibration system ensures reliable prints.

The filament compartment is hidden in the print bed.

CONCLUSION

As probably most of you are waiting for, we also want to see how it works with figurines, tokens, sceneries and everything! It can be used to replace broken pieces, to create new ones, a new world can be created to fix or improve our experience!
By now we can only show the video uploaded by the staff.

Fardelejo:

 ;)

Un saludo.
