Dear Backers,Two months ago we announced to the 173 of you who backed at the Admiral Level that you would be able to collect your copy of HOPE at our booth at Essen Spiel ’16. We did our best to fulfill this promise, our team has been working around the clock, however we need to now announce that we will not be able to meet the deadline we set. HOPE will not be available at Essen Spiel this year. The production of the game has been delayed and it is important to us that you are aware of the reasons and have full transparency:As some of you may know, Morning is a startup that over the past year has grown very quickly. This growth has allowed us to begin several projects at the same time, but it has also created cash flow delays as we invested money into all these projects, projects which will only create a monetary return in 10-12 months from now.We have been working with Panda Game Manufacturing for several years now and have together produced around a dozen games, but in the process we have fallen behind with the payment of some invoices. In spite of this outstanding debt, Panda has been wonderful with us and our relationship has not suffered (nor it is at risk at this time). We have mutually decided to start fresh in order to continue our partnership on solid ground – this means to bring our account out of arrears. We have thus postponed the HOPE production until we have resolved our issues. The suspension of HOPE is unrelated to the Kickstarter, and we want to stress that this is our mistake - Panda has been nothing but a trustworthy, punctual and reliable partner over the years.I have only recently been informed of this issue by our finance department and with a heavy heart I wanted to inform you quickly. I understand, and share your disappointment. In the name of the entire Morning team, we would like to express our sincerest and deepest apologies.I also deem it important to share a few remarks with you:- Those of you who pledged at Admiral Level will still received a signed copy of the game.- All 1549 of you who have trusted us will still receive their copy of HOPE before it enters retail. - All the Stretch Goals that have been unlocked during the campaign will be delivered as promised. We have also prepared a little compensation for those 173 of you who were meant to come and collect your copy from our booth in Essen Spiel’16. Our team brainstormed what we could do soften the blow of this news a little: when you come to our booth in Essen in October, you will as promised have the opportunity to meet Marcelo, the illustrator of the game, who will make a sketch of you, for you, and sign it. You will also receive an exclusive goodie, especially created for the Admiral Pledge backers. You will be the first to know the exact date of when the production launch will be scheduled. If you have any questions for me or my team please send them to us!Amaury,Project Manager on HOPE
First of all as you may have read it in the previous update a new shipping date is set for HOPE. The production will start within the first two weeks of November and the game will be shipped in March for a dispatch in April.
